Warner Bros Games and DC have confirmed that LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight will release worldwide on May 29, 2026, bringing the Caped Crusader back in a new open world action adventure for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-orders for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions went live tonight following the game’s appearance at The Game Awards, where a new trailer was introduced by LEGO Batman in a brief Batcave cameo.

The trailer offered an extended look at the project’s gameplay, highlighting a roster of playable heroes and villains drawn from across Batman’s long history. Batman is joined by Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Catwoman, each equipped with distinctive gear and move sets designed to support different playstyles. The footage also showcased several members of Gotham City’s Rogue Gallery, including Two-Face, Poison Ivy, Firefly, Mr Freeze, The Joker, The Penguin, Ras al Ghul, and Bane.

Vehicles also had a moment in the spotlight, with early glimpses of the Batmobile from Batman The Animated Series and the Batpod from The Dark Knight films. Both can be used to move through the open world version of Gotham City that serves as the game’s central setting.

The Standard Edition, priced at $69.99, includes the full campaign following Bruce Wayne’s path from his early training with the League of Shadows to his rise as Gotham’s protector. Along the way, players will team up with a range of allies, uncover crimes across the city, and confront an escalating threat from familiar adversaries. The package also features 100 suits and character outfits, more than 20 vehicles, including the Tumbler, and over 250 Batcave props that can be collected and displayed. All pre-orders for this edition include a Dark Knight Returns Batsuit available at launch.

The Deluxe Edition, priced at $89.99, contains everything in the Standard Edition along with two major content collections. The Legacy Collection, available at launch, adds more than 30 items split across three themed packs, each offering seven suits, a new Batmobile, and additional Batcave items. The Mayhem Collection arrives in September 2026 and introduces Mayhem Mode, letting players control The Joker and Harley Quinn in new missions set within Gotham. This collection also includes new suits, another Batmobile, and extra customization items. Deluxe pre-orders grant 72-hour early access beginning May 26.

Players can also unlock the Golden Age Batsuit by signing in with a Warner Bros Games account. Beyond the game itself, four new LEGO DC Batman sets are now available for pre-order and include bonus digital content that can be redeemed when the game launches. One set provides an exclusive gold Batsuit, while three Batmobile-themed sets each add a playable in-game vehicle along with a gold variant. These gold items are only accessible to buyers of the physical LEGO sets.

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned, with release details to be announced next year. Users can already wishlist the game on the platform.

Developed by TT Games, LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight aims to blend decades of Batman storytelling with the studio’s familiar LEGO design and humor, presenting a large-scale journey through Gotham City anchored by both classic and contemporary interpretations of the Dark Knight.
