Lenovo Legion Go 2 Pre-Orders Closed After Demand Surpasses Supply

The Lenovo Legion Go 2 has proven to be far more popular than the company initially projected, with pre-orders quickly surpassing available supply. Lenovo confirmed the situation in an official update shared on the Legion subreddit, where representatives acknowledged the overwhelming demand and explained the steps being taken to address the shortage.

According to Lenovo, while additional stock is already being shipped to retailers worldwide, some pre-orders made directly through Lenovo’s website will need to be cancelled. “We don’t believe in holding onto customer payments for products we can’t ship in a timely manner,” the company stated. They further apologized to fans impacted by the cancellations, emphasizing that the Legion Go Gen 2 was “built with you in mind” and promising improvements to the ordering process in the future.

This comes only days after another post in the same community highlighted that demand for the handheld had far exceeded expectations, leading to unforeseen delivery delays. The company admitted to mishandling early communications but assured fans that teams are “working diligently worldwide” to fulfill existing orders. The update also pledged that questions raised during their ongoing Reddit AMA would be properly addressed after the initial silence frustrated community members.

Beyond stock availability, Lenovo has also been using the subreddit to highlight technical improvements in the Legion Go 2. Updates from the AMA detail a revamped cooling system featuring dual heat pipes, a redesigned fan, and increased airflow capacity of 45 percent over the first generation. The company also confirmed backward compatibility for accessories between the two models, extending the value of previous purchases for dedicated users.

The Lenovo Legion Go 2, unveiled at IFA 2025, launches officially on October 31, 2025. It features upgrades, including a VRR OLED display, improved ergonomics, and an enhanced trackpad, positioning it as a premium entry in the competitive handheld gaming PC market. While the unexpected demand has caused temporary setbacks for direct buyers, Lenovo is confident that retail availability will improve in the weeks leading up to release.
