Leon will play the leading role in Capcom’s upcoming survival-horror game, Resident Evil 9, based on a new rumor.
A few days ago, known insider AestheticGamer (also known as Dusk Golem) had revealed that Jill Valentine doesn’t play a major role in the upcoming Resident Evil 9. He mentioned that the hospital rumor that is making the rounds these days is entirely false, and that he wanted to temper the expectations of Jill fans.
Furthermore, Golem had mentioned on Discord that Leon is the main character of Resident Evil 9. Meanwhile, he said that Jill may possibly be referenced in an in-game file or something of the sort, but she will not have a major role to play in the game. He said with certainty that any rumors claiming that Jill has a prominent role in Resident Evil 9 aren’t based on reality. He encouraged fans to wait for actual news on the game, as nearly every rumor that has been floated around the internet has been false. As of now, he said that Resident Evil 9’s announcement is set to happen after Summer 2025.
Upon hearing what he had to say about Jill Valentine’s role in Resident Evil 9, a disappointed fan pointed out to Golem that it was him who had originally claimed the character would have a prominent role in the game. Golem responded by saying that his earlier information was true at the time, but that is no longer the case. He said that he wouldn’t be surprised if, after the release of Resident Evil 9, Capcom reveals concept art or early drafts showing that Jill had a bigger role to play in the game.
Previously, YouTuber Residence of Evil had shared details from an alleged Resident Evil 9 playtest leak, including the characters, story, setting, plot, enemies, and more. According to Golem, the entire playtest leak was fake.
