Level-5 Reveals Tokyo Game Show 2025 Lineup, Decapolice Still Absent

by Salal Awan

Level-5 has officially confirmed its lineup for Tokyo Game Show 2025, with three titles scheduled to appear at the annual showcase. The studio announced that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, and Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will all be featured during the event. Notably absent, however, is the company’s crime suspense RPG Decapolice, which continues to remain out of the spotlight despite being one of its most anticipated projects.

The highlight of the lineup is Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, the eighth entry in the long-running puzzle adventure series. Set one year after the events of Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, the game is scheduled for release in 2025 on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Fans of the franchise have been waiting years for a new installment, making its presence at TGS 2025 a major draw.

Also on display will be Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, a sports role-playing game that continues Level-5’s popular soccer-themed series. The title is planned for release on November 13, 2025, across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Meanwhile, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will also be showcased.

While this lineup will no doubt generate excitement, the omission of Decapolice is difficult to ignore. Originally announced as a futuristic detective RPG, the game allows players to investigate crimes through a virtual environment known as DECASIM. Combining traditional case-solving mechanics with turn-based combat against “Crime Beasts,” the project stood out as one of Level-5’s most ambitious new IPs in recent years. With a 2026 release window already confirmed, its absence from the event may point to development needing more time before new details can be shared.

Tokyo Game Show 2025 will take place at Makuhari Messe between September 25 and September 28, with two business days and two public days. Organized by the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association, the event will once again serve as a major stage for Japanese and international publishers to showcase their upcoming projects.
