Level Infinite Announces Dread Meridian, a Survival Horror VR Experience

by Greg Martin

Level Infinite has announced its first dedicated VR project, a survival horror game titled Dread Meridian. Developed by KUKRGAME, the title was revealed during the recent Level Infinite Showcase and is being built specifically for PC VR and Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S headsets. The game aims to immerse players in a frozen, isolated wasteland where every decision could mean the difference between survival and death.

In Dread Meridian, players step into the role of Daniella, a researcher searching for her missing twin sister on the remote island of Oglanbyen. The setting, described as a desolate land spiraling into madness, serves as the backdrop for a harrowing narrative filled with monstrous creatures, cryptic puzzles, and relentless tension. The game encourages tactical thinking, with a focus on limited resources and customizable weapons. While firearms and ammunition can offer an advantage, players may often find themselves resorting to a knife for close combat encounters, heightening the sense of desperation.

Level Infinite confirmed that community testing for the game will take place later this year, offering players an early opportunity to experience its mechanics and atmosphere. The developer also hinted at additional updates closer to launch, including further details on a planned cooperative PVE mode, designed to expand the survival horror experience.

With Dread Meridian, Level Infinite is signaling its intent to carve out a place in the VR horror space, blending immersive storytelling with survival-driven gameplay.
