Lies of P Sequel Officially Enters Full Production at ROUND8 Studio

NEOWIZ has confirmed that the sequel to Lies of P has officially entered full-scale production as the company continues expanding its global RPG development pipeline.

The update comes from NEOWIZ’s Q1 2026 earnings report, which places major emphasis on the future of the Lies of P franchise and the company’s broader long-term strategy focused on premium PC and console RPGs.

According to the report, the Lies of P sequel has now moved beyond the prototype stage and entered active development. The company later clarifies that the project is currently in the “vertical slice” phase, meaning developers are building a polished internal version representing the game’s intended mechanics, visual quality, combat systems, and overall production direction.

NEOWIZ repeatedly describes Lies of P as one of its most important long-term franchises moving forward. The report specifically references plans for “Universe Expansion and Serialization,” signaling the publisher’s intention to continue building the IP into a recurring franchise with long-term revenue potential.

The company also highlighted an increased focus on narrative development for future projects. In a strategic Q&A section, ROUND8 Studio stated that narrative is now viewed as a “core competency,” with the company investing more heavily in scenario-writing talent and storytelling-focused leadership.

The comments suggest the sequel may place greater emphasis on cinematic storytelling and world-building compared to the original game, which was already praised for its reinterpretation of the Pinocchio mythos and environmental narrative design.

Beyond Lies of P 2, the report reveals several additional RPG projects currently in development across NEOWIZ and ROUND8 Studio. These include Project Rubicon, a narrative-driven RPG currently in the vertical slice stage, and Project Windi, another Souls-like RPG that remains in prototype development.

The company is also collaborating with external studios on multiple Western-focused RPG projects, including a retro science-fiction first-person RPG from Wolfeye Studios and a noir western CRPG from Zakazane Studio.

Financially, NEOWIZ reported Q1 2026 revenue of KRW 101.4 billion alongside operating profit of KRW 7.0 billion and net profit of KRW 15.5 billion. The company stated that its PC and console business has now entered a “normalization phase” following the commercial success of Lies of P and its Overture expansion.

Overall, the earnings report presents Lies of P as the centerpiece of NEOWIZ’s transition into a larger global RPG publisher, with the sequel now firmly progressing through active production.
