Limbus Company July 31 Update Adds Announcer Voiceline Skip Feature and Addresses Miscommunication

by Ali Haider

Project Moon has announced a key change coming in the scheduled July 31 update for Limbus Company, an indie gacha strategy title available on Windows and mobile platforms. The update will introduce a new gameplay setting allowing players to automatically skip the announcer voicelines played after victories and defeats. This quality-of-life improvement comes in response to longstanding player feedback and aims to streamline the game experience during extended play sessions.

The announcement also serves as a correction to a previously issued notice, in which Project Moon mistakenly suggested that this feature had already been implemented. The studio admitted the error resulted from internal communication issues and delays tied to other development priorities, specifically the “Walpurgis Night” update. Project Moon has publicly apologized for the confusion and pledged to implement more rigorous internal verification processes for future update communications.

  • July 31, 2025 (Scheduled)

New Features and Changes

  • Announcer Voiceline Skip Option
    • A new toggle will be added in the game settings menu.
    • When enabled, this will automatically skip announcer voicelines for both victories and defeats.
    • The feature is intended to streamline the pacing of gameplay for users who prefer faster transitions between battles.

Clarification on Previous Notice

  • A prior announcement incorrectly suggested this feature was already deployed.
  • This was due to a miscommunication during the composition of the update notice and the ongoing internal development process.
  • The feature was originally tied to experimental testing for announcers but had not been finalized at the time of the “Walpurgis Night” build submission.
  • Project Moon confirmed that other content took precedence during the update cycle, delaying the implementation of this quality-of-life feature.

Limbus Company, developed by South Korean studio Project Moon, is a turn-based gacha strategy game set in the dystopian world of “The City,” the same universe as Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. Launched globally on February 26, 2023, the game combines a rich narrative with stylized combat and live service mechanics. Players command a team of “Sinners” and unlock alternate identities and powers through a gacha system. The game’s monetization model supports Project Moon’s ongoing development efforts, including a future third-person action RPG.
