Little Nightmares III Launches October 10, 2025, as Series Passes 20 Million Sales

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has officially confirmed that Little Nightmares III, the next entry in the acclaimed horror platforming franchise, will launch on October 10, 2025. Developed by Supermassive Games, the title will be released across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are now open on all platforms except for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, which will follow at a later date.

Accompanying the release announcement was the Little Nightmares Showcase, which offered a closer look at the upcoming installment, revealed a new gameplay trailer focusing on the Carnevale chapter, and highlighted the franchise’s continued expansion through comics, novels, and more. The franchise has now sold over 20 million units worldwide since its debut in 2017.

Set in the mysterious and surreal world of the Spiral, Little Nightmares III follows two new protagonists, Low and Alone, as they attempt to escape a reality warped by delusion. Their journey takes them into the twisted realm of the Carnevale, a crumbling amusement park filled with eerie challenges and lurking terrors.

Little Nightmares III Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses

Multiple editions of Little Nightmares III will be available:

  • Standard Edition
  • Digital Deluxe Edition
    Includes the Secrets of the Spiral Expansion Pass and Residents Costumes Pack
  • Collector “Mirror Edition”
    Adds a figurine, metal case, artbook, OST (digital and physical), and sticker set to the Deluxe content
  • Premium Collector “Spiral Edition” (Bandai Namco Store exclusive)
    Features the Mirror Edition contents with enhancements including a music box base, Nome controller/phone holder, and a commemorative coin featuring Low and Alone

Pre-ordering any edition grants access to the Dark Six Costumes Set. Players who pre-order a digital copy of Little Nightmares III on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC will also gain early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition.

Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition

Launching the same day as Little Nightmares III, Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition brings the original game to new hardware standards on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. It features technical upgrades, such as ray tracing and volumetric lighting, in addition to gameplay improvements, including better checkpoint placement and new accessibility options. The Enhanced Edition is immediately accessible for digital pre-orders of Little Nightmares III on select platforms.

Bandai Namco also unveiled a host of transmedia projects that will further explore the Little Nightmares universe:

  • The Sounds of Nightmares Podcast
    A second season is in development following over 2 million listens of the original.
  • Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere (Comic Book by Titan Comics)
    Debuting in October 2025, the comic explores two parallel storylines: one following a mute girl named Hush and her companion Mono in a dungeon; the other centering on a weary detective named Myra. Pre-orders open in July.
  • Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones (Young Adult Novel)
    Written by E.C. Myers and published by Scholastic, this horror novel will be released in September 2025. It follows a child named Ruse navigating a terrifying carnival setting alongside two mysterious companions.
  • Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes
    A VR adaptation is currently in development by Iconik Studio.
  • Stop-Motion Project Teaser
    Developed in collaboration with Taller del Chucho, this visual piece is a new artistic interpretation of the Little Nightmares world, with more information to follow.

Little Nightmares has grown from a tense side-scrolling horror game into a full-fledged multimedia franchise. With sales surpassing 20 million copies and expansions into books, audio dramas, and animated projects, the series continues to thrive, proving its unsettling world has enduring appeal.
