Lost Soul Aside Is Releasing Soon, But PlayStation Offers Little Clarity On Previews Or Reviews

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Ultizero Games’ action role-playing game, Lost Soul Aside, will be releasing soon, but the publisher has offered little clarity on the availability of previews or reviews.

With Lost Soul Aside mere days away from its August 29, 2025 release, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s marketing decisions appear rather odd. Despite being positioned as a major first-party title, the upcoming action role-playing game is heading toward launch with no pre-launch previews and no known distribution of review codes. An approach of this nature usually suggests a lack of confidence in the final product.

At this stage, no one from the press or content creators circle has confirmed access to early review codes for Lost Soul Aside. The silence seems odd, especially considering how most publishers use early codes to build buzz and give critics time to prepare thorough reviews by the embargo date. Similarly, beyond trailers and promotional videos, the press has yet to publish its final round of hands-on previews.

As for the review embargo itself, it may not lift until August 28 or launch day on August 29, 2025. While this isn’t unheard of, it could point to a scenario where publishers fear that advance criticism may harm pre-orders or dampen launch-day sales. For a project that has been in development for nearly a decade, the lack of transparency comes as odd.

In the event that Lost Soul Aside delivers on its promise, the marketing blackout would have been unnecessary. However, if it falls short, this last-minute embargo strategy would likely be seen as a deliberate attempt to save the game’s launch from scrutiny.

Lost Soul Aside has been available for pre-load since August 22, 2025, and the game’s download size is around 70 GB. The game is set for release for both PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. It follows the story of Kaser, a young man on a dangerous quest to rescue his sister Louisa while defending humanity from the Voidrax.
