The development team at Hangar 13 revealed that the main story in Mafia: The Old Country will have an approximate length of 10.5 hours, while the game will take around 13 hours to complete when factoring in all the side quests.

Those who are getting discouraged by Mafia: The Old Country’s short length and are wondering whether it’s worth the investment, it’s worth noting that it isn’t a full priced title. The game will be available for 49.99 US Dollars, which should ease concerns some may have regarding value for money.

Back in May, 2025, Mafia: The Old Country, officially received its ESRB rating, confirming an M (Mature 17+) classification for its intense depictions of violence, strong language, and adult themes. According to the detailed summary, the game will immerse players in the violent and morally complex world of organized crime in 1905 Sicily. Combat is described as visceral and graphic. Players will make use of a wide array of weapons, including knives, pistols, shotguns, and rifles, to eliminate rival gang members and bandits. Realistic gunfire effects, cries of pain, and blood-splatter animations accompany each violent encounter. Stealth takedowns, such as slitting throats and stabbing enemies from behind, are also available to players seeking a quieter approach.

Mafia: The Old Country is set to launch on August 8, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. As a narrative prequel to the 2002 original, the game is the fourth mainline entry in the long-running crime saga.
