Marathon Server Slam Rewards Roll Out at Launch

by Greg Martin

Bungie has thanked players who participated in Marathon’s recent Server Slam, confirming that rewards earned during the test event will be distributed when the game launches on March 5.

In a message shared through the official Marathon account, the studio expressed appreciation to those who took part in the stress test, noting that player feedback and bug reports will help shape the final launch experience. Bungie added that it plans to outline key takeaways from the Server Slam in the near future.

Players who secured rewards during the event will receive them via their in-game Mailboxes once Marathon goes live. Bungie cautioned that distribution may take time, so items may not appear immediately upon logging in. Eligible rewards include the Complex Study emblem, the Beta.exe background, and an Arrival Cache containing loot tied to individual progression during the Server Slam. However, these items must be claimed before the end of Season 1. Players who participated in the event but do not log in before the season concludes will forfeit their rewards.

Those who earned Twitch Drops by watching Marathon streams will also see those items granted to their Bungie.net profiles at launch. The Twitch Sponsored Kit may take up to 48 hours to appear in players’ Mailboxes and must be redeemed by March 31.

Looking ahead to release, Bungie emphasized that the Server Slam represented only a portion of the full experience. At launch, Marathon will include complete faction and contract progression systems, six Runner shells, including Thief, and three playable zones, among them Outpost. During Season 1, players can also expect the endgame area Cryo Archive aboard the UESC Marathon ship, as well as the introduction of Ranked mode and additional content.

Marathon launches on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S on March 5.
