Nintendo has released a new update, version 3.0.4 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, focusing primarily on resolving issues in the “3DS Music Park” track during Time Trials. A specific bug that caused note animations to fall out of sync with the background music after repeatedly accessing the pause menu has been addressed. While some sync irregularities remain during menu toggling, ghost data now plays back with the correct timing, ensuring consistency during replays.
In addition to the Time Trials fix, the update also resolves a visual issue in the “N64 Rainbow Road” course, where coins thrown by spectators would vanish before landing. It is important to note that ghost data from version 3.0.3 or earlier that contains the syncing problem cannot be uploaded and may be removed from online records without prior notice.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Update 3.0.4 Complete Patch Notes:
- General:
- Fixed an issue in “3DS Music Park” (Time Trials mode) where repeatedly opening and closing the pause menu caused the timing of the jumping “notes” to fall out of sync with the background music, and ghost data would not playback correctly.
- After the update, note timing may still lose sync with the background music during menu toggling, but notes will now jump correctly when ghost data is played back.
- Ghost data for “3DS Music Park” created in version 3.0.3 or earlier cannot be uploaded.
- Ghost data exhibiting this problem may be deleted from “Online Ghosts” without prior notice.
- Fixed an issue in “N64 Rainbow Road” where coins thrown by spectators disappeared before hitting the track.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
