Mario Kart World Update 1.6.0 Adds Bob-omb Blast and Gameplay Adjustments

Mario Kart World has received its Version 1.6.0 update, introducing the fan-favorite Bob-omb Blast mode to Battle Mode alongside a series of gameplay refinements. The update also adjusts item behavior, including notable changes to Bullet Bill and boomerang performance, while refining race balance through revised item probabilities and invincibility mechanics.

In addition to gameplay tweaks, the update delivers an extensive list of bug fixes across multiple modes, including Knockout Tour, Free Roam, and Online Play. Several track-specific issues and visual inconsistencies have also been addressed, contributing to a more stable and polished experience overall.

  • Added Bob-omb Blast to Battle Mode
    • Players can now hold up to 10 Bob-ombs at once
    • Throw distance depends on how long the L Button is held

Quality of Life Updates

  • Added up to two warning indicators for incoming items like Red Shells or Spiny Shells in Single Player and limited multiplayer modes
  • Shortened course selection roulette time in Online Play and Wireless Play

  • Fixed incorrect starting position issues in races
  • Fixed issues with creatures summoned by Kamek falling through the ground or displaying incorrectly

Mario Kart World launched on June 5, 2025, for Nintendo Switch 2. The Version 1.6.0 update was released on March 30, 2026. The game is currently available for 79.99 dollars digitally and 89.99 dollars physically.
