Mario Tennis and Mario Golf developer Camelot Software Planning may be working on a title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
According to the company profile of Camelot Software Planning, the studio’s employees are showing high interest in Google Tesseract, 4K (Display), and Automatic Image Annotation. Research on these technologies indicates that regional and localization tasks are being worked on by the studio in addition to Automated UI Testing and UI Annotation. As such, it’s likely that the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf developer may be working on a title for the Nintendo Switch 2.

As for which Nintendo Switch 2 game Camelot Software Planning may be working on, the studio has released 6 sports tiles after Golden Sun: The Lost Age, and another 6 after the arrival of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. Assuming that the developer follows that same release timeline, its next title may well be another Golden Sun game for Nintendo’s new console.
For the uninitiated, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a role-playing game developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS. It is the third installment in the Golden Sun series and was released in late 2010. Set three decades after the events of the original two titles, Dark Dawn follows a new generation, descendants of the earlier heroes, as they journey through the world of Weyard. Core gameplay mechanics return from previous entries, with players using a type of magic known as Psynergy to battle enemies, explore new areas, assist NPCs, and collect elemental creatures called Djinn that enhance character abilities.
Sticking closely to classic RPG structure, the game has players explore a fantasy world, engage in turn-based combat, acquire equipment and new Psynergy abilities, and follow a story-driven quest. Unlike earlier entries, some areas become permanently inaccessible after certain points in the game, although new regions open up once the player obtains a ship. One of the new additions is an in-game encyclopedia that tracks both returning and newly introduced mechanics, helping players remain up to speed throughout their adventure.
