The discovery was made by PlayStation Game Size, a well-known source for uncovering unannounced PlayStation Store entries, file sizes, and update details. While no official confirmation has been given, the appearance of a PS4 version on the store’s backend has sparked speculation that an announcement could be imminent.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PlayStation Game Size listed Marvel Rivals – PS4 as part of their latest findings. The account, which has a track record for accurately spotting upcoming releases, even joked, saying, “I hope it never gets released.”
Marvel Rivals was originally released on December 6, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games, the title offers a roster of 41 playable characters from Marvel Comics and supports cross-play across all platforms. Since its launch, the game has grown into one of the most played titles in its genre, surpassing 40 million players as of February 2025.
