Marvel Rivals developers have announced plans to take action against players exploiting matches to farm hero proficiency points, confirming that a new combat behavior detection system is currently in development. The announcement was shared directly through the official Marvel Rivals social media account, where the team addressed concerns about behavior that negatively impacts fair play and overall match quality.
According to the developers, the issue involves players remaining stationary during matches and repeatedly farming statistics to artificially increase hero proficiency. The studio stated that this behavior disrupts normal gameplay and has a direct impact on other players’ experience. In their message, the team explained, “Recently, we’ve noticed that some players are exploiting matches by remaining stationary and repeatedly farming stats to gain hero proficiency points. This behavior disrupts normal gameplay and seriously affects the match experience of other players.”
To counter this, Marvel Rivals will introduce a combat behavior detection system designed to identify players engaging in these exploits. The developers made it clear that enforcement will not be symbolic. They warned that players found abusing the system may face escalating penalties. As outlined in the statement, “Players found engaging in such behavior may face penalties including, but not limited to: warnings, short-term suspensions, long-term suspensions, or permanent account bans.” The team also urged the community to cooperate, adding that they are asking players to help maintain a fair and healthy game environment.
Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 hero shooter developed by NetEase Games and officially launched on December 6, 2024. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games, with a PlayStation 4 version joining later in 2025. Built around fast-paced combat and destructible environments, the title centers on team-based matches featuring a large roster of Marvel characters.
