Marvel Tōkon Adds Wolverine Suit in August 28 Patch

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has received its August 28 patch, bringing Wolverine’s new Battle Reborn suit alongside several fixes and improvements for PS5 and PC.

The update addresses crashes, online stability, Arcadia Rumble issues, replay problems, and badge progress. PC players also receive fixes for Windows Update KB5121003 and excessive Steam platform update processes, while a new Match Area option gives players more control over online matchmaking.

Patch Notes

New Features

  • Added Wolverine’s Battle Reborn suit.
    • Available for Wolverine as a battle character and online lobby avatar.
    • Includes Colors 1 through 8 for both versions.

PC Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Windows Update KB5121003 could cause the game to crash.
  • Fixed an issue where Steam platform update processes were being called excessively.

PS5 Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the game could repeatedly loop after selecting language settings when attempting to play before background downloading had finished.

PS5 and PC Fixes

General

  • Fixed an issue where the game could occasionally crash when transitioning into battle in Startup Battle, Battle Guide, and Character Lessons.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where hitting multiple characters simultaneously with Peni Parker’s grounded Link Attack could, under certain circumstances, leave an opponent unable to move.

Arcadia Rumble

  • Adjusted network processing in Arcadia Rumble multiplayer to improve stability.
  • Fixed an issue where a CPU character replacing a disconnected player could become unresponsive.

Replay

  • Fixed an issue where character poses would not display correctly on the battle result screen when viewing replays.
  • Fixed minor issues when editing replay notes.
    • Fixed an issue where protection status would not update correctly.
    • Fixed an issue where the cursor position could change unexpectedly.

Badges

  • Fixed an issue where progress for the Participate in Arcadia Rumble badge could fail to save correctly.

Open Lobby

  • Improved the stability of the network compatibility icon displayed in Lobby Select.

Online Matches

  • Added Match Area to Match Settings for Ranked and Casual Matches.
  • Players can now adjust the area used when searching for opponents.
  • Play Area can be changed under Battle Settings.
  • From the Ranked or Casual Match menu, players can press R1 to open Battle Settings and change their Play Area.
  • Changing the Play Area to another region may help players who are having trouble finding a match with their current setting.
  • Fixed an issue where the network compatibility icon would not update correctly on the Match Area selection screen.

Known Issues

Matchmaking Settings

  • Incorrect help text is currently displayed for the Connection Speed setting when Match Area is set to All.
  • When Match Area is set to All while a Connection Speed limit is applied, matchmaking may take longer.
  • Players setting Match Area to All are recommended to also set Connection Speed to All.

Additional Notes

Replay Data

  • Replays created in previous versions will no longer be searchable or playable after updating the game.
  • Locally saved replays will remain on the system but will not be available for playback.

Shader Warm-Up

  • PC players should run and complete the shader warm-up before playing for a smoother and more optimal experience.
