Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls has begun distributing its December closed beta invitations, marking the first major public testing phase for the upcoming tag team fighter from Arc System Works, PlayStation Studios, and Marvel Games. Recipients received an official message from PlayStation inviting them to participate, with the beta scheduled to run from December 5 at 12:00 AM PT until December 7 at 11:59 PM PT. The invitation states, “Today is your lucky day! You are formally invited to participate in the MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls December Closed Beta” and outlines the steps required to join the test.

The correspondence also notes that users must complete their registration to confirm participation, adding that, “You will also need to be a member of the Beta Program at PlayStation in order to participate.” Access is governed by the PlayStation Beta Program Terms, and the message emphasizes the importance of user impressions by stating, “Your feedback is crucial in helping us create the best gaming experience possible.”

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is emerging as one of the more anticipated fighting game releases of the coming year. Developed by Arc System Works, known for celebrated titles such as Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ, the project brings together a large roster of Marvel heroes and villains within a 2.5D, anime-influenced visual framework. The title experiments with the traditional tag formula through a 4v4 team system in which all characters share a single Vital Gauge, creating rapid shifts in momentum and emphasizing cinematic, fast-paced battles set across destructible environments.

The closed beta represents the first opportunity for players to test these mechanics ahead of launch. It also offers Arc System Works a chance to refine the game’s technical performance, balance, and online functionality. Given the studio’s history with competitive fighters, expectations are high, yet the unusual multi-character team format signals that the developers are aiming for something that feels familiar but also broader in scope.

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is targeting a 2026 release window and will arrive as a console exclusive on PlayStation 5, accompanied by a simultaneous PC debut on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Full cross-play support is planned across all platforms.
