by Salal Awan

The closed beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the upcoming 4v4 tag team fighting game from PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games, is now open for registration. Fans eager to get an early look at the gameplay can apply through the official PlayStation website, with the testing period set to run from September 5 to 7, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5.

This announcement follows the game’s major reveal on the EVO 2025 main stage in Las Vegas, where developers outlined what players can expect from their first hands-on experience with the title. Built on the anime-inspired visual flair Arc System Works is known for, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls aims to offer a high-energy blend of team strategy, familiar Marvel faces, and fast-paced tag-based combat.

How to Sign Up for the Closed Beta

To join the beta, players must register through the official PlayStation page. The process is simple:

  1. Click the “Register now” button on the beta sign-up page.
  2. Complete the PlayStation Beta Program registration form.
  3. Await confirmation via email if selected. Participants are advised to monitor both their inbox and spam folder for the invitation.

Note that players who previously signed up for the PlayStation Beta Program earlier this year may already be eligible, which could explain any error messages during registration.

What Is Included in the Closed Beta

The Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls closed beta gives players a curated yet substantial taste of what the final game will offer. Among its features are:

  • Six Playable Characters
Participants will be able to battle as Captain America, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Storm, and Doctor Doom, each equipped with their own Command List for advanced maneuvers and combos.
  • Playable Stage: Marvel’s New York City
The stage is broken into three distinct battle zones: City Center, Avengers Park, and Hell’s Kitchen, offering varied backdrops and tactical elements drawn directly from Marvel lore.
  • Online Features
A 64-player online Lobby populated with chibi-style Marvel avatars, as well as Spectator Mode for watching other players’ matches, will be available throughout the beta period.

This early build of the game is being rolled out with the intention of gathering real-time player feedback. Developers are expected to use this data to refine balance, mechanics, and performance ahead of the game’s full release.

When Will the Game Launch?

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is currently slated for a 2026 release on PlayStation 5 and PC. No specific release window has been confirmed, but the closed beta represents the first significant checkpoint in the game’s pre-launch development cycle.
