Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls briefly revealed extensive gameplay and feature details after its Steam page was updated ahead of an upcoming State of Play presentation, before the information was quickly taken down. The premature update confirmed several previously unannounced elements, offering a clearer picture of the game’s scope, modes, and technical features before the page was removed.

According to the now-removed Steam listing, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is positioned as a 4v4 tag-team fighting game supporting both local and online play. Players will be able to face off locally against friends or join online lobbies with support for up to 64 players, including standard versus modes. The listing also confirmed a dedicated single-player Episode Mode, which focuses on exploring team dynamics and lore, suggesting a narrative-driven component beyond competitive play.

The Steam page detailed several PC-specific features. The game is listed as supporting Ultra settings, with battles locked at 60 FPS and visuals reaching 4K resolution on compatible displays. DualSense controller support on PC was also confirmed, with full feature functionality available when the controller is connected via a wired connection.

In terms of content, the listing confirmed that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will launch with a roster of 20 playable Marvel characters. Players will assemble teams of four characters, each described as belonging to their own unique teams of heroes and villains. The game encourages experimentation with team compositions to unlock new combos, synergies, and strategic options. Stages are based on iconic Marvel locations and include dynamic environments, with some arenas featuring interactive stage transitions.

Gameplay is described as aiming to be both accessible and deep. Adjustable control schemes are supported, including traditional inputs and simplified options, alongside easy chain combos designed to make entry more approachable while still allowing mastery of advanced mechanics. Combat features a variety of unique move sets and strategies tied to individual characters and team configurations.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Marvel Games. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game features a 2.5D presentation with anime-inspired character designs. Core systems include a shared Vital Gauge across the entire team, as well as mechanics such as Wall Breaks and the Assemble Gauge, which is used for assist-based combos. The narrative framework involves heroes and villains clashing across locations such as the X-Mansion and the Savage Land.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is scheduled for a global release in 2026. The game is confirmed as a console exclusive for PlayStation 5, with a simultaneous release planned for PC via Steam.
