The release date for Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics has been leaked via UK based online retailer ShopTo.
UK based online retailer ShopTo had updated the store page for Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics with its release date prior to an official announcement in this regard. According to the listing, the fighting game collection will be available on November 22, 2024.
While there’s always the chance that the listed release date for Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics may be a placeholder, it seems rather precise for that to be the case. It’s also worth mentioning that ShopTo is among the first reputable retailers in the UK that has the game up for pre-order. As such, the listed release date is likely to be accurate. Capcom has yet to confirm or deny this information, however.
Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is set to release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). It runs on MT Framework, the same engine used for porting Capcom games like Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds to seventh and eighth-generation consoles. The lack of an Xbox release has been linked to the platform’s challenges in running MT Framework. During a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast, co-host Jez Corden brought up the ongoing issues with MT Framework on Xbox consoles. Based on what he has been told, this has led to the publisher just skipping the platform in several cases, including Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, due to technology-related reasons.
However, Corden has also been told that Microsoft is actively working alongside Capcom to fix the aforementioned MT Framework issues. He believes Microsoft has identified that not having Capcom’s back catalog present on Xbox as a result of a technological reason is not a great look for the platform, and that it is now looking to to work through it and figure it out.
