Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Rated for Switch 2 in Taiwan, Hinting at Possible Native Port

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has received a rating for Nintendo Switch 2 in Taiwan, despite no official announcement from the publisher. The listing, attributed to Koch Media GmbH, points to a potential new release of the game, possibly in the form of a native port for Nintendo Switch 2.

The rating has raised interest largely because the game previously appeared on the original Nintendo Switch only as a cloud-based version. A Switch 2 listing suggests that a fully native version may now be in development, although no formal confirmation has been provided at this stage.

Developed by Eidos Montréal and originally published by Square Enix, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy launched on October 26, 2021. The title is a linear action-adventure experience that places players in control of Peter Quill, also known as Star Lord, as he leads the Guardians through an original narrative set within a distinct Marvel universe.

Gameplay centers on third-person combat combined with squad-based mechanics, allowing players to issue commands to other members of the team during battles. The experience also incorporates dialogue choices and environmental puzzles, which influence how certain moments unfold throughout the story.

With the Taiwan rating now in place, attention turns to whether an official announcement will follow, particularly as publishers continue to prepare updated releases for Nintendo Switch 2.
