Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gets Release Date, Pre-Order Bonus and Collector’s Edition Detailed
Insomniac Games has shared a release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and confirmed the details on the pre-order bonus and Collector’s Edition.
It was confirmed during the Summer Game Fest that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch on October 20, 2023, exclusively for the PS5. In addition to this, details were shared on the various pre-order bonuses and digital/retail editions of the game.
Pre-Order Bonus – If you pre-order any version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you will receive:
- An early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter with 3 additional color variants.
- An early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with 3 additional color variants.
- An early unlock Web Grabber gadget.
- 3 skill points to get started on your journey.
Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99 / £79.99/ €89.99/ ¥9,980 MSRP) – This edition includes:
- The base game.
- All the pre-order incentives.
- 10 unique suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles).
- Additional Photo Mode frames and stickers.
- 2 additional skill points.
Collector’s Edition ($229.99 / £219.99/ €249.99/ ¥31,790 MSRP) – This edition provides:
- A voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition.
- A Steelbook® case.
- A high-quality 19-inch statue featuring Spider-Men battling fan-favorite Venom.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is set after the events of the first Spider-Man and Miles Morales. It will feature both the spidey heroes in playable form and while the developers haven’t confirmed seamless switching between them, they did reveal that during specific points of the story, the player will be able to switch between these two superheroes.
Marvel’s Spider-Man will feature two major villains, Kraven the Hunter and Venom. While we haven’t seen Venom in the game, Kraven the Hunter was recently showcased during the PlayStation event that also gave the first look at the gameplay for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Insomniac has shared some new artwork for both of these villains.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be out on October 20, 2023. It is currently confirmed to launch exclusively on the PS5. Sony has usually ported their games to PC so there is a good chance that this sequel arrives on PC later down the line.
