Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer, the reveal of the game’s cover art, and details about the title’s narrative direction and combat design.
The studio, known for its work on the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, described the project as an original interpretation of the character Logan. Actor Liam McIntyre will provide the voice and performance capture for Wolverine, portraying a version of the hero caught between his violent nature and his pursuit of answers about a shadowed past.
The trailer introduced key elements of the game, including combat that emphasizes Wolverine’s claws, adamantium strength, and berserker rage. According to Insomniac, players can expect fast and brutal encounters that feature dismemberment and close-quarters techniques designed to reflect Logan’s reputation as a reluctant yet formidable fighter.
Several characters from Marvel lore were briefly teased, such as Mystique, Omega Red, and the Reavers, a recurring faction of enemies. The footage concluded with a glimpse of a prototype robot resembling a well-known adversary from the comics.
The story will send Wolverine across multiple international settings, including Madripoor, Canada, and Tokyo. These locations will serve as backdrops for what Insomniac describes as a global thriller blending narrative and action.
The game’s cover art, designed in collaboration with comic artist Jock, was also unveiled. Insomniac emphasized that the project aims to capture the darker tone of Wolverine’s world while building on the studio’s established approach to cinematic storytelling and accessibility features.
Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed in partnership with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. More information is expected in Spring 2026 ahead of the game’s release later that year.
