Marvel’s Wolverine Skips State of Play, Update Coming Spring 2026

Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine will not appear at the upcoming PlayStation State of Play presentation, clarifying that new information on the project will instead be shared in Spring 2026. The update came directly from the studio’s official social media account in response to a fan inquiry.

When asked, “WHEN MORE INFO ?”, Insomniac Games responded succinctly with, “Spring 2026.” The brief exchange effectively rules out any significant presence for Marvel’s Wolverine during the imminent State of Play broadcast and sets a new expectation window for fans awaiting further details.

The confirmation comes amid heightened speculation surrounding Sony’s extended State of Play event. With the broadcast scheduled to run for more than an hour, many had anticipated potential updates from major first-party studios. However, Insomniac’s response makes it clear that Wolverine will not be part of the showcase lineup, at least not in any substantive capacity.

Marvel’s Wolverine is a third-person action-adventure title developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Marvel Games. The project is positioned as a darker, more brutal narrative-driven experience centered on Logan, voiced by Liam McIntyre. Set within the same continuity as the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise, the game is expected to feature fast-paced combat and appearances from notable Marvel characters, including Omega Red and Mystique.

The title is officially scheduled for a global release in Fall 2026 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. Recent digital storefront listings in Latin America have narrowed the anticipated launch window to September 2026, though Sony has not formally confirmed a specific date. Even so, the timeline suggests that a Spring 2026 information update would align with a marketing push ahead of release.
