Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection Arrives March 27, 2026 as Pre-Orders Go Live

by Greg Martin

Capcom is marking Mega Man’s 38th birthday by opening pre-orders for the newly announced Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection, which is scheduled to launch on March 27, 2026. The release brings back the Star Force action RPG series in a single package, uniting all three mainline entries and a total of 7 games that originally debuted in 2006 as part of Mega Man’s 20th anniversary.

The collection is positioned as a comprehensive revival of the Star Force era, bundling the complete trilogy with a range of modern enhancements and extras. Players will have access to a dedicated gallery mode featuring more than 1,000 pieces of official artwork, including rare concept materials. A built-in music player allows fans to listen to background tracks from all three games, along with newly arranged music that can also be used during gameplay.

Gameplay options have been expanded to give players more control over how they experience the series. The collection includes adjustments such as increased Mega Buster attack power, customizable enemy encounter rates, and optional high-resolution visual filters. Players can choose between Casual Matches for a more relaxed experience or Ranked Matches designed for competitive play on a global scale. The Brother Band system also returns, allowing connections with up to 100 friends to enhance Mega Man’s abilities and reinforce cooperative progression.

The collection also restores rare bonus cards that were previously locked behind limited events or physical merchandise. These cards can be combined with those earned through normal play to create stronger decks, though Capcom notes that some bonus cards are not included.

Pre-orders for Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection include digital and physical bonuses, such as 4 arranged background music tracks and 2 main menu customization characters, Geo Stelar in casual attire and Omega Xis. Capcom added that these bonuses may be offered separately at a later date. In addition, several Mega Man titles are currently discounted by as much as 85 percent across participating storefronts as part of the anniversary celebration.

Beyond the game release, Capcom is also making the Mega Man Star Force animated series available to watch for a limited time. The full run revisits the EM Wave World and the origins of Geo Stelar and Omega Xis, leading up to their transformation into Mega Man. Viewing details are available through the official Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection website.

The publisher also highlighted other ongoing Mega Man initiatives, including the recently announced Mega Man Dual Override, which currently has an open boss design contest, and a new language patch for Mega Man 11 that adds support for Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish.
