What Is the Review Embargo Date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater?

Twitter/X user Genki_JPN has reported that the review embargo for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is expected to be lifted on August 22, 2025, four days prior to the early access Digital Deluxe Edition launch and six days before the official release date. The timing is likely at around 7 AM PDT / 10 AM EDT / 3 PM BST / 4 PM CEST.

Additionally, the pre-load for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is expected to go live on the PlayStation Store on August 24, 2025, for those who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition and on August 26, 2025, for those who pre-ordered the Standard Edition. It will come with the latest update pre-installed. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy of the game will need to download the day one update. As of writing, there are no details available on the game’s download size.

Recently, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater officially received an M18 rating in Singapore by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The classification cited intense depictions of violence as the primary reason for the mature rating, while also confirming that the game will retain certain sexual references, including the use of pin-up magazines that were part of the original release. IMDA’s report outlined the game’s Cold War narrative, which follows Naked Snake, an elite FOX operative, as he infiltrates Soviet territory to rescue defecting scientist Sokolov. After betrayal by his mentor and escalating conflict with Soviet forces, Snake must not only complete his mission but also confront The Boss, his former ally turned enemy.
