Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater has surpassed 2 million units shipped worldwide. The milestone comes roughly six months after the remake launched on August 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is a modern remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the classic stealth action title originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004. While the remake preserves the original game’s core elements, including its story, characters, voice acting, gameplay systems, and soundtrack, the project updates the experience with modern technology and presentation.
According to Konami, the remake features significantly enhanced visuals and audio, with high-density environments and 3D audio designed to increase immersion. The game also introduces a more detailed damage system that displays injuries such as wounds, burns, and bullet impacts on characters in real time. In addition to the classic overhead camera perspective, the remake also includes a third-person camera option aimed at players accustomed to contemporary action games.
Several additional features were also included, depending on the platform. The PlayStation 5 and Steam versions include the mini game Snake vs Monkey, while the Xbox Series X and S release features an alternative mode titled Snake vs Bomb. The remake also brings back Secret Theater, a collection of bonus scenes originally included in the 2005 release Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.
The game further expands the experience with a new online competitive mode called Fox Hunt, which supports matches of up to 12 players.
Alongside the sales milestone announcement, Konami also confirmed that pre-orders are now open for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2. The upcoming collection follows the first volume released in 2023 and is currently scheduled to launch on August 27, 2026.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam.
