Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 will launch on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5. Revealed during Sony’s State of Play presentation, the second volume continues the publisher’s effort to bring key entries in the series to modern hardware in a single package. Pre-orders are now live on the PlayStation Store.
The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, originally released on PlayStation 3, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, presented in its HD Collection version. Also included is Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel, the series’ first handheld entry from 2000, which will be accessible through the Bonus Content section of the collection.
Each title comes with a digital scenario book containing the full in-game text, along with a master book that provides additional background on the story and characters. The digital edition also features Metal Gear Solid Digital Soundtrack Vol 2, compiling music tracks from across the included games.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots follows Solid Snake in what is described as his final battle, set in a world dominated by private military companies. This version includes enhancements such as improved internal resolution, a higher maximum frame rate, and customizable button controls.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker centers on Big Boss in the years following the events of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The HD Collection version included in Vol 2 supports customizable controls and offers online modes, including a cooperative mode for 2 to 4 players and a competitive Versus Ops mode for up to 6 players.
Metal Gear: Ghost Babel places players back in the role of Solid Snake as he infiltrates an armed fortress to stop a seized Metal Gear weapon. This version includes additional features such as screen filters, pixel-perfect display options, screen settings, a rewind function, and customizable controls.
Players who pre-order the collection will receive bonus in-game items for both Metal Gear Solid 4 and Peace Walker. These include the Cardboard Camouflage item for MGS4 and the LOVE BOX uniform for Peace Walker. Players with save data from Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 can unlock additional bonuses, including Gold Camouflage for MGS4 and a GOLD uniform for Peace Walker.
Konami also confirmed that a final post-launch update for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 is available today, adding new visual updates to the games in that package. To mark the announcement of Vol 2, both Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater and Master Collection Vol 1 are currently available at a discounted price on the PlayStation Store for a limited time.
