Metal Gear Solid Series Producer Calls It His “Dream” To Work With Kojima Again

Metal Gear Solid series producer Noriaki Okamura has called it his “dream” to work alongside series creator Hideo Kojima once again.

Speaking during episode 1 of the Metal Gear Solid Production Hotline, series producer Noriaki Okamura was asked if there is any chance that the original development team will return to work on, co-develop, or supervise any of the future Metal Gear Solid titles. He responded by saying that it’s not his place to answer on behalf of anyone outside of Konami or to guess how they might feel about working on another titles in the series. Though, from a personal standpoint, he said that he would like nothing better than to work with Kojima and the rest of Kojima Productions once again. He further stated that if that were to happen, it would be a dream come true for him.

Having said that, Okamura acknowledged that people have moved on to new things and new commitments, and that’s just the current reality. He said that he can’t take it for granted that everyone would work alongside him again, or let himself and the current development team be completely dependent on Kojima Productions. He added that he doesn’t believe it’s right for him to be the one to make that kind of demand of anyone. As such, the development team working on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is working with the expectation that whatever it makes, it’s on its own shoulders to do a good job.

Okamura also mentioned that he had received a lot of questions regarding the inclusion of Kojima and the original development team in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s credits. He assured that all the original development staff, including Kojima, are credited for their original roles. He pointed out that they were already included in Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection.
