MGS Master Collection Ver. 3.0.0 Adds 4K

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 has received its Final Post-Launch Update, Version 3.0.0, expanding screen settings and introducing higher resolution options across supported platforms. Players can now choose between Original, High Resolution, and Max Resolution settings, with native 4K rendering available for select titles on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.

The update also adds a confirm and cancel button swap option, expanded keyboard settings on Steam, and various stability fixes. Nintendo Switch users receive a specific audio fix, while compatibility improvements ensure enhanced performance on newer hardware.

Patch Notes

Screen Settings Expanded

  • Added Resolution option under Screen settings in the Options menu
  • Resolution options include Original, High Resolution, and Max Resolution
  • PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions support Original and High Resolution only
  • Resolution settings cannot be changed after starting the game
  • Non-Original resolutions disable smoothing, screen filter options, and Pixel Perfect setting
  • Some instability may occur depending on setup, reverting to default settings recommended if issues arise

Steam Minimum Requirements

  • High Resolution requires Intel Core i5-12400, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
  • Max Resolution requires Intel Core i5-12400, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Confirm and Cancel Button Swap

  • Added option to swap confirm and cancel buttons in Options
  • Steam version includes setting under Button Settings
  • Feature not available on Nintendo Switch
  • Button settings cannot be changed after starting the game

Keyboard Settings Added on Steam

  • Added Control Settings to in-game pause menu
  • Enabled custom key bindings under Keyboard Settings
  • Moved Controller Settings under Control Settings

Fixes and Adjustments

  • Fixed issue where certain codecs had no sound on Nintendo Switch
  • Implemented minor fixes and general adjustments

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 originally launched on October 24, 2023. Version 3.0.0 is available as of February 13, 2026, across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
