Microsoft is reportedly regretting keeping Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 console exclusive to Xbox, while Fable may arrive on PS5.
Game journalist and The Xbox Two podcast co-host Jez Corden took to Twitter/X to respond to a post that questioned the point of keeping Hellblade 2, Avowed and South of Midnight console exclusive to Xbox. He shared that heard Microsoft considers Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 exclusivity a mistake, and he believes the software giant won’t repeat the same mistake with Fable by not bringing it to PS5.
According to Corden, Fable has a monstrously expensive budget. He said that the action role-playing game might not be day one, but it’ll come to PS5 eventually with Microsoft’s current plan in place, which involves bringing all first-party Xbox titles to PlayStation over time. He further stated that the reason Microsoft isn’t more transparent about its plans is because it doesn’t want to mandate it on its studios that aren’t yet set up for simultaneous multiplatform development. That said, he firmly believes that the era of Xbox having permanent console exclusives is over.
The first four Xbox first party titles to arrive on PS5 are Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment. Previously, known insider eXtas1stv took to Twitter/X to share that they know of 4 Xbox exclusives that will go multiplatform in the near future, and Jez Corden correctly revealed that one of them is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of Forza Horizon 5 arriving on PS5, Corden said that Playground Games’ racing title may ultimately get ported, but it won’t be happening anytime soon.
As for Fable, Corden had revealed during a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast that he had the opportunity to see some alpha gameplay footage from the upcoming action role-playing title. According to him, the game looked “fantastic”, and he could see CD Projekt Red’s DNA in it.
