IO Interactive and Build a Rocket Boy’s action-adventure game, MindsEye, is facing a rocky launch due to various glitches and graphical errors that are reminding players of the bugs seen in Assassin’s Creed Unity after its release.
Since its release yesterday, MindsEye players are reporting that the game has launched in a technically poor state on both consoles and PC. Apparently, despite targeting a frame rate of 60 fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game’s frame rate doesn’t go much higher than 30 fps, with constant stutters further affecting the experience. Not even the PS5 Pro is able to help much here, nor is the PC version able to brute force past these issues on a capable system.

The situation is so severe that players are comparing the bugs and graphical glitches seen in MindsEye with those found in the infamous Assassin’s Creed Unity when it launched. To make matters worse, the game also tends to suffer from crashes on both consoles and PC. Several ragdoll and physics-related issues have also been spotted.

The game had broken street date around a week prior to its launch, and early reports had suggested that the game suffered from major technical issues, including glitches, frequent pop-in and major frame rate drops. Though, it was expected that the day one update would fix several if not all of these problems. Unfortunately, however, this was not the case.
MindsEye is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It features a “faux-pen” world design reminiscent of Mafia: Definitive Edition. Integrated within the broader game creation platform known as Everywhere, the game allows players to contribute their own content to its world using the provided tools.
