Early copies of IO Interactive and Build a Rocket Boy’s action-adventure game, MindsEye, are out in the wild, and the first player impressions suggest that the game suffers from major technical issues.
The upcoming action-adventure game is set for release in a few days on June 10, 2025, but the game already appears to have broken street date, as early copies are out in the wild. One of the individuals who obtained early copies of the PS5 version of MindsEye have shared their hands-on impressions with the game running on PS5 Pro.

Twitter/X user MrHazel88, who managed to get an early copy of MindsEye in Germany, shared a screenshot of the game’s box and its icon in the PS5 system menu. They mentioned that a day one update is not yet available to download, so their impressions are based on the build available on the disc. As for what they thought about the game thus far, they said that they are not impressed at all. In terms of technical issues, they likened the state of MindsEye to that of Mass Effect Andromeda back when it was released.
According to MrHazel88, there are noticeable LOD and performance issues, with major frame rate drops and frequent pop-in. I don’t realy know how much but it’s significant enough to See and feel it. These issues persist both during cutscenes and gameplay. They also claim that there is noticeable screen flicker when moving the camera around. Despite running the game on a PS5 Pro, they aren’t impressed by the game’s visuals either, saying that it looks washed out and at times blurry. They feel that it is in need of further optimization.
In addition to the frame rate dips affecting gameplay, the player mentioned that the shooting feels off, as it doesn’t give any kind of feedback or hit reactions at all. They also said that they encountered a game-breaking bug that prevented them from making further progress in the main story. As such, they were unable to finish all available missions.
