TiMi Studio Group, in collaboration with Capcom, unveiled a new trailer for Monster Hunter Outlanders during Tokyo Game Show 2025, offering the first detailed look at the mobile entry in the long-running franchise. The game, developed for iOS and Android, introduces players to a previously unseen island setting and new gameplay features while retaining the series’ trademark hunting action.
Attendees at the Level Infinite and Capcom booths during TGS will be the first to try a hands-on demo of the title. Alongside the showcase, TiMi confirmed that recruitment for the first closed beta has opened, with testing scheduled to begin in November in select regions. Interested players can register through the official website.
The newly released trailer highlights both familiar and novel mechanics. Players will assume the role of the “Adventurer,” a customizable protagonist who can explore, craft, and hunt across the island of Aesoland. The footage emphasized the use of traditional weapon types alongside new gameplay systems, including a focus on crafting and environmental interaction.
Capcom producer Genki Sunano said in a statement that the project has “great potential” and is expected to offer fans a fresh way to experience the franchise on mobile devices. TiMi Studio Group producer Dong Huang added that the development team is preparing for the closed beta to allow players to test the game’s “many appealing features.”
According to details provided by the developers, the game introduces several new concepts distinct from previous Monster Hunter titles. Players will recruit characters known as Adventurers, each with their own backgrounds and skills that influence hunting strategies. Companions, or “buddies,” will also feature prominently. Alongside the familiar Palico, new companions named Rutaco and Trillan will debut, each with unique traits and upgrade paths.
The setting of Aesoland is divided into multiple regions defined by different terrains and weather conditions. Crafting will play a central role in exploration, allowing players to uncover items and clues to advance their quests. A new class of enemies, the “Radiant Species,” has also been introduced. These monsters are altered by exposure to a mineral called Radiantite, granting them increased strength and aggressive behaviors.
Monster Hunter Outlanders does not yet have a confirmed release date. The closed beta in November is expected to provide the first opportunity for players outside the event to test the game’s mechanics.
