Multiple sources have hinted that Capcom’s survival horror game, Resident Evil 7, is headed over to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Content creator Attackdabacklog took to Twitter/X to share that Capcom will be showing a horror game for the Nintendo Switch 2 during the next Direct presentation, and insider NWeedle corroborated this information by stating a line said by Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters’ wife Mia during the game’s intro. “All I Can Say Is That If You Get This, Stay Away!”

This indicates that the horror game set to be announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 is none other than Resident Evil 7. A few days earlier, insider and content creator SwitchForce talked about the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation, which is allegedly set to happen on Friday, September 12, 2025. According to him, the Nintendo Direct will feature a number of exciting announcements, release dates, and fresh reveals, including 3 games linked to the number ‘7’. While its meaning is unclear, the slot-machine reference suggests that we may receive the jackpot equivalent of game announcements.

Fans on social media have been attempting to decode the riddle, throwing out guesses ranging from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 to Soul Calibur 7 and Dragon Quest VII. When pressed on the matter, SwitchForce reiterated that while players have gotten close, the correct combination has not been revealed. Responding directly to a fan concerned about Ace Attorney 7, he stated bluntly, “Negative captain :/”, ruling out its appearance in the Direct.

Going by what Attackdabacklog and NWeedle have said, it looks like Resident Evil 7 is one of the “jackpot 777. “The other two titles may be Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Only time will tell whether this is the case, however. As always, we encourage our readers to take such rumors with a grain of salt until there is confirmation via official channels.
