Neon Inferno Accolades Trailer Showcases Critical Praise

by Greg Martin

Independent publisher Retroware and developer Zenovia Interactive have released a new accolades trailer for Neon Inferno, highlighting the strong critical reception the cyberpunk run-and-gun game has received since its launch on all major platforms in November 2025. The trailer spotlights praise from multiple outlets while revisiting the game’s neon-soaked vision of a dystopian New York City.

Neon Inferno follows two playable characters, assassin Angelo Morano and Mariana Vitti, a thrill-seeking fighter, as they battle their way through streets overrun by Yakuza criminals and corrupt law enforcement. The newly released trailer showcases the game’s intense action and visual style, offering a condensed look at the combat encounters and atmosphere that have resonated with critics.

Reviews have pointed to the game’s confident blend of classic design and modern presentation. Forbes awarded the game an 8 out of 10, describing it as a stylish and gritty take on the genre. Digital Foundry highlighted the level of craftsmanship on display, praising the technical and creative talent behind the project.

At its core, Neon Inferno combines side-scrolling action with long-range shooting that extends into the background, creating a layered combat system inspired by classic arcade shooters. The experience is supported by detailed 32-bit-inspired pixel art and a moody soundtrack that reinforces its cyberpunk setting. Players can tackle the game solo or team up in two-player cooperative play, with difficulty options ranging from more accessible modes to a demanding arcade-style one-credit clear challenge.

Neon Inferno is currently available digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X S, and PC via Steam.

The game is the second release from Zenovia Interactive, a fully remote international studio founded in 2019 and based in New York City. The team previously released Steel Assault in 2021. Retroware, meanwhile, continues to focus on publishing and developing modern retro-inspired games while also operating arcades and producing related merchandise.
