The Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition community has released a new update, version 89.8193.37-17, showcasing the dedication of its volunteer developers. Created by passionate members of the NWN community, this patch focuses on enhancing the scripting compiler, improving stability, and refining existing features for both creators and players. While not developed by Beamdog directly, this update continues the legacy of ongoing community-driven support for the classic role-playing title.
This release introduces new scripting capabilities, including support for binary and octal integers, unary plus operations, and double-bang syntax for boolean conversion. Alongside these additions, the update corrects several bugs, such as crashes linked to the NUI system, improper handling of negative stat updates, and DNS-related performance issues. Additionally, cosmetic and usability changes have been made, such as simplifying crash report handling and removing the flashing News panel from the main menu.
