A new entry in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series may be announced as soon as the forthcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows update goes live.

Twitter/X user PlayStationSize, who is know for having access to database entries made to PlayStation servers, has discovered an entry (PPSA28183_00) for what appears to be a new Assassin’s Creed game. Furthermore, update 01.009.089 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has also been added to the PlayStation database, suggesting that the aforementioned unannounced title may be revealed as soon as the update goes live. The update brings a New Game Plus mode, a level cap increase, knowledge rank 9 and 10, Forge level 4, new trophies and achievements, new Animus-themed rewards, and new store content, among other changes.

PlayStation database codes for recent entries in the Assassin’s Creed series can be seen below.

  • PPSA01490_00 = Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • PPSA07231_00 = Assassin’s Creed Mirage
  • PPSA20397_00 = Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The new PPSA28183_00 entry isn’t downloadable content for any of the above titles, as such code are extensions of the base game code. For example, the base version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has the code EP0001-PPSA01490_00-GAME000000000000 and its DLC listings have the codes EP0001-PPSA01490_00-DLCEXPANSION0001, EP0001-PPSA01490_00-DLCEXPANSION0002, and EP0001-PPSA01490_00-DLCEXPANSION0003.

PlayStationSize believes that the new database entry could be for Assassin’s Creed Invictus or the rumored Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake. The remake’s existence was recently teased by voice actor Matt Ryan, who played the role of protagonist Edward Kenway in the game. While signing his autograph on the packaging of the character’s Funko Pop for a fan during a convention in Rosemont, Illinois, Ryan told the latter that they may have to beat Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag again. He added that that there’s a reason he said this, but was unable to share anything further. The original title is available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
