by Salal Awan

A new Dragon Ball game will be officially announced on Sunday, January 25, during the Dragon Ball Genki-Dama Matsuri anniversary event. The reveal is scheduled to take place during a dedicated stage broadcast beginning at 11:00 AM JST, which corresponds to 2:00 AM GMT, 6:00 PM PST, and 9:00 PM EST on Saturday, January 24. The announcement is part of a larger celebration marking the Dragon Ball franchise’s 40th anniversary.

The event, also referred to as the Dragon Ball Genki-Dama Festival, will feature multiple stage presentations throughout the day. It has been confirmed that all stages from the January 25 program will be live-streamed globally via the official Toei Animation YouTube channel. This ensures that fans worldwide will be able to watch the game announcement and other reveals as they happen.

According to the published schedule, the new game will be revealed during the “Genki-Dama Stage + Super New Game Announcement Stage,” which begins at 11:00 AM JST. This segment follows an earlier block titled “Super New Development Announcements! Genki-Dama Stage Part 1” and precedes additional development updates later in the day. While specific details about the game have not been disclosed ahead of time, the structure of the event clearly positions the announcement as a central highlight of the festival.

The full program spans the entire day and includes multiple franchise-focused segments. Later stages will spotlight Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle, Dragon Ball Legends, and Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra, followed by dedicated presentations for Fusion World and Super Divers. The day will conclude with a special live stage and an on-site edition of Weekly Dragon Ball News.

The announcement comes at a time when Dragon Ball games are already highly active across several platforms. Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO continues to receive new content as part of its ongoing Season 2 rollout following its initial release in October 2024 and subsequent Nintendo Switch 2 launch in late 2025. Dragon Ball Z Kakarot also remains a major presence, having surpassed 10 million units sold while receiving new expansion content tied to recent anime developments. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra has expanded the franchise’s competitive offerings with its service-based structure and ongoing seasonal updates.

Against this backdrop, the confirmation of a brand new Dragon Ball game suggests that Bandai Namco and its partners are preparing the next major step for the franchise’s interactive future. With the announcement scheduled during a globally accessible live stream, expectations are firmly set for January 25 to deliver a clear look at what comes next for Dragon Ball games.
