by Greg Martin

NADA Holdings Corp., headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, has officially confirmed the development of a new entry in the Lollipop Chainsaw franchise, along with an anime adaptation. This announcement comes through a renewed collaboration with Tokyo-based Dragami Games Co., Ltd., signaling a significant expansion of the cult classic zombie action series.

Originally released in 2012, Lollipop Chainsaw gained notoriety for its unique blend of over-the-top zombie combat, graphic content, and irreverent humor. The franchise saw a revival with the remastered edition Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP in 2024, which received positive feedback from both critics and long-time fans. With cumulative sales exceeding 1.5 million units, the property has demonstrated lasting appeal.

According to the official statement, the new game is being developed by a team that includes original developers, reaffirming the companies’ commitment to maintaining the spirit of the original title. The creative direction of the project will be guided by the franchise’s trademark humor and narrative tone. The developers have emphasized that the creative process will not be constrained by modern DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) guidelines, instead choosing to retain the series’ original identity and stylistic approach.

Alongside the new game, an anime adaptation is also in development, further expanding the Lollipop Chainsaw universe into new media. Details regarding production studios or release windows for the anime have not yet been disclosed.

To stay updated on the progress of both the game and anime, an official social media account has been launched. Future posts will provide information on development milestones, promotional events, and other relevant news.
