Last month, known insider and horror game enthusiast AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem, shared new details regarding Resident Evil Reqiuem. When describing Leon’s appearance in the upcoming title, he said, “His hair’s greying, he starts off wearing a black jacket (I won’t be surprised if he loses it eventually as that’s an on-going bit in the RE games), he’s unshaven and more rugged. But I mean, he’s still Leon.” Going by the artwork seen above, his description of Leon’s character design appears to be accurate.

Back in June, the same insider had claimed that Leon is still the main character of Resident Evil Requiem. The game is viewed as “the conclusion of his trilogy,” carrying over character elements from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4. He further stated that while it will feature only one campaign, Leon won’t be the only playable character, though he is still the is the main character. He further said that the setting in Resident Evil 9 has a really strong gothic horror atmosphere that is very “witchy.” According to him, before the release of Resident Evil Village, Capcom had considered dropping numbers from the titles of future entries, a trend the ninth game is continuing.

Resident Evil Requiem is set for release on February 27, 2026, across Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
