by Ali Haider

A new Star Fox title and a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time may be part of Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 lineup, according to claims shared during a recent podcast hosted by NateTheHate, with input from ModernVintageGamer. The discussion focused on Nintendo’s potential release schedule for 2026, outlining both summer and holiday plans.

During the podcast, it was claimed that a new Star Fox game could arrive as early as summer 2026, marking the return of a franchise that has remained inactive for years. Nate stated, “I’m talking about a brand new Star Fox game,” before adding that it is expected to follow a classic gameplay style. Additional details suggest that the visuals are “very good, very very satisfying,” and that the game may include online multiplayer. The same discussion also indicated that the title could be revealed within the next month.

Beyond Star Fox, several other titles were mentioned as part of Nintendo’s summer slate. These include Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven, Fire Emblem Fortune Weave, and a new Switch Sports release for Switch 2. There were also suggestions that a Switch 2 edition of Pikmin 4 could be part of the broader lineup, though it was noted this may not represent the complete schedule.

Looking further ahead, the conversation shifted toward Nintendo’s holiday window. It was claimed that FromSoftware’s Dusk Blood is targeting a late 2026 release, while a new 3D Mario title is reportedly planned for 2027 instead. In its place, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is said to be in development for release in the latter half of 2026. The scope of the remake remains unclear, with questions surrounding whether it will closely follow the original or introduce more significant changes.
