by Ali Haider

A new rumor suggests that Nintendo may finally unveil a new Star Fox game later this month, though the method of announcement could differ from traditional showcases. According to industry insider NateTheHate, the reveal is expected to take place sometime in April.

Responding to questions online, the insider stated, “I said StarFox will be announced this month via Nintendo Today or Twitter.” When pressed further on the timing, he added, “Yes,” indicating confidence that the announcement will occur within April. The claim points to a potential reveal through the Nintendo Today app or a direct social media post, rather than a full presentation such as a Nintendo Direct.

Previous reports have indicated that a new Star Fox title is currently in development, with a possible 2026 release window. Additional details shared through earlier discussions suggest the project may take a slightly different direction in tone. Speaking on a VGC podcast, it was claimed, “The thing that was said to me was, ‘Oh, the game’s really funny’, which suggests perhaps the writing is a focus and that suggests maybe you are going to get a bit of a different vision.”

The rumored title is still expected to retain the core gameplay structure associated with the series, while introducing modern enhancements such as improved visuals and potential online multiplayer features.

At this stage, Nintendo has not officially confirmed the existence of a new Star Fox project, and the reported April announcement window remains speculative.
