A new job listing from EA suggests that the next entry in BioWare’s Mass Effect series will enter full production in the near future.
The aforementioned job listing (via Shinobi602 on Blue Sky) is for the position of Production Director at BioWare. Publisher EA is looking for an individual with a passion for the Mass Effect universe to serve as a high-impact leader on the production of the next entry in the series. The role is expected to partner closely with creative leadership, studio teams, and internal and external partners to support the game’s vision and ensure its execution “at the highest quality bar.” The job description and responsibilities indicate that the new recruit will lead the game into full production.
EA expects the Production Director to bring a strong player-first mindset, deep knowledge of the competitive gaming landscape, and a commitment to building inspired teams through mentorship, collaboration, and best-in-class production practices. They will continuously elevate both the game and the team, fostering a strong production culture while translating ambitious ideas into “outstanding player experiences.”
Key responsibilities include serving as a strategic bridge between creative intent and development execution that translates high-level vision into a clear direction, enabling teams to deliver at AAA quality, providing leadership across the full development lifecycle, anticipating needs, setting executional direction, and ensuring teams are positioned to succeed at each phase.
Back in November, 2025, on the occasion of N7 Day, BioWare released a new piece of artwork that hints at story details for the next Mass Effect title. The image is a piece of concept artwork, titled “Civil War.” It shows a Krogan warrior in full battle armor leading a fierce assault, surrounded by chaos, explosions, and other soldiers locked in combat, hinting that the next entry in the series may revolve around a Krogan Civil War.
