Discussion around the future of the NieR franchise has resurfaced following comments reportedly made during recent live concert events. According to multiple attendees posting on Reddit, remarks shared at a NieR orchestra concert have hinted that additional NieR games may be planned, though no formal announcement has been made. As with similar reports based on live event impressions, this information is being treated with caution.
The discussion originated on the NieR subreddit, where a user attending a recent concert described both the performance and an apparent tease about the series’ future. In a post shared by user snakeeater34, the attendee wrote, “What an amazing experience. And a tease that more NieR is to come!” The same user later clarified that the comments were not tied to a specific reveal but were still encouraging, given the recent lack of new releases.
According to snakeeater34, the comments were attributed to producer Yosuke Saito during the event. The user stated that Saito said something along the lines of, “I guess with how popular this tour has been, I guess we have to keep making NieR games.” Another attendee, posting under the name Sparda_426, echoed this sentiment, claiming that Saito himself said, “It looks like we might be able to keep bringing you more Nier.” These remarks were shared secondhand by attendees and have not been confirmed through an official statement.
The timing of these comments has drawn attention, particularly as the NieR series has seen limited new releases in recent years. NieR Automata remains the most recent major entry, with the series otherwise supported through remakes, mobile projects, and live events. Square Enix has also announced a 9th Anniversary Stream for NieR Automata scheduled for February 20, 2026, further keeping the franchise in the public eye.
