Nine Sols Patch 953572b Updates Engine, Fixes Critical Bugs, and Improves Stability

by Ali Haider

Red Candle Games has released Patch 953572b for Nine Sols, featuring a major engine upgrade from Unity 2022.3.33f1 to Unity 2022.3.62f2, addressing a critical security vulnerability (CVE-2025-59489) and improving overall performance, stability, and engine security. This technical update not only strengthens the game’s foundation but also ensures a smoother experience across all supported platforms. However, the developers have warned that this upgrade may temporarily affect community mod compatibility, as mods built on older versions of the engine may not function properly until updated.

Alongside the engine overhaul, this patch introduces numerous bug fixes and visual refinements. These include corrections for flickering textures, map boundary cracks, and enemy pathing issues, as well as adjustments to certain boss encounters and object interactions. Several quality-of-life improvements were also made, such as fixing improper text display in Traditional Chinese and ensuring player respawn points are positioned safely away from traps.

Nine Sols is a story-driven 2D action-platformer from Red Candle Games, the creators of Devotion and Detention. Blending Asian mythology with cyberpunk futurism, it presents a distinctive “Taopunk” setting centered around Yi, a forgotten warrior on a mission to slay the Nine Sols—godlike rulers of New Kunlun. The game’s combat system draws inspiration from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, focusing on precision-based deflection and Taoist talisman mechanics. Initially released for PC (Windows and macOS) on May 29, 2024, Nine Sols later expanded to consoles, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, on November 26, 2024, with availability through Xbox Game Pass.
