Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Update D2 Brings Major Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

The second major update for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is now live, focusing on polish, bug fixes, and overall stability. Known as the D2 Update, it addresses a wide range of issues reported by players, improving the flow of gameplay and making key encounters feel more consistent. Boss fights now function more reliably, checkpoint behavior has been refined, and several soft-lock scenarios have been eliminated.

In addition to these adjustments, level-specific fixes resolve collision errors and environmental bugs, while talisman effects and accessibility settings have been corrected for consistency. Enemy behaviors, animations, and system stability have also received targeted improvements, ensuring a sharper and more balanced gameplay experience across all platforms.

Boss Fights & Challenges

  • Fixed issue where striking the boss at the edge of level 4-5 could push it out of view.
  • Challenge conditions now properly trigger and reward progress.
  • Adjusted Rhyvashi encounters with improved stagger cooldowns and removed lingering attacks.
  • Corrected boss cutscene skip issues that caused unfair hits.

Gameplay Flow & Checkpoints

  • Fixed multiple soft-locks and freezes when pausing or restarting.
  • Checkpoints now heal Kenji consistently and respect equipped talismans.
  • Restarting from checkpoints during boss fights no longer leaves the health bar stuck on screen.

Level-Specific Fixes

  • Resolved various collision issues where characters could get stuck or clip through objects.
  • Environmental hazards now respect accessibility knockback settings.
  • Fixed background and asset display problems such as floating containers and mountain edges.
  • Music and dialogue triggers now align correctly with progression.

Talismans & Accessibility

  • “Last Stance” now only affects melee slashes and guillotine boosts.
  • Fixed stacking issues between “No Rest for the Wicked” and “Unworthy.”
  • Accessibility settings for damage, screen shake, and knockback now behave consistently.

Enemies & Animations

  • Corrected erratic behavior for Bio Harpies, Flying Turrets, and Bio Blockers.
  • Fixed Kumori-specific issues with talisman effects and movement.
  • Improved visuals for attacks and death animations, including Cyclops Demon and Rhyvashi.

System & Miscellaneous

  • Application now detects Windows language settings on first launch.
  • General improvements to performance and stability across the game.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a 2025 hack and slash platform game developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Dotemu under the license of Koei Tecmo. A spin-off of the Ninja Gaiden series created by Team Ninja, Ragebound was released for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on July 31, 2025.
