Nintendo may have accidentally revealed a major feature in its upcoming action role-playing game, Pokemon Legends Z-A.
The store page for Pokemon Legends Z-A on the official Nintendo website is hinting that the title includes a major unannounced feature. Going by the details mentioned in the publisher’s notifications, the upcoming action role-playing game appears to have some sort of multiplayer functionality.

According to the store page for Pokemon Legends Z-A, the game offers a Mystery Gift function that can be found within the Link Play menu option in the X menu after players unlock the Rewards feature in the game’s Mable’s Research. They will then need to connect their Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 system to the internet to claim this bonus. The user profile on the system will need to be linked to a Nintendo Account in order to connect to the internet. It takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours of play time before players can access the Link Play menu. This sort of feature wasn’t available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
It’s worth noting that doing the above does not require a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Additionally, it is mentioned that the Mystery Gift item can only be redeemed once per save data file.
In related news, The Pokemon Company recently revealed new information on Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s starter Pokémon, Legendary Pokemon Zygarde, and the return of Mega Evolutions, including a newly revealed Mega Dragonite. These details shed further light on the world of Lumiose City and the deeper lore of the Kalos region ahead of the game’s scheduled release this October. Players will embark on their journey in the heart of Lumiose City, a major part of which involves selecting one of three classic starter Pokemon i.e. Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile. Chikorita, the gentle Grass-type, can calm opponents with its soothing aroma. Tepig, a nimble Fire-type, uses its fiery nostrils to unleash bursts of flame. Lastly, Totodile, the spirited Water-type, is a fierce biter with a penchant for mischief, even toward its own Trainer.
