Nintendo will be hosting a new Direct presentation that is scheduled to happen sometime soon, according to a reputable insider.
Known insider John Harker took to the gaming enthusiast Reset Era forums to respond to a fellow member who hoped to see a new Nintendo Direct. The insider said that it “shouldn’t be too long”, implying that a new presentation is set to happen sometime soon, possibly later this month.

One announcement that may happen at the rumored Nintendo Direct presentation is a Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy XVI. During a recent episode of Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer on YouTube, producer Naoki Yoshida and creative director Kazutoyo Maehiro hinted at a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the sixteenth entry being in development. After they finished showing the game in action on the Xbox Series X|S, Yoshida mentioned, “Just Nintendo-san left”, to which Maehiro responded by saying, “I will do my best.”
Another game that may make an appearance at the next Nintendo Direct is a new mainline Mario game for the Switch 2. During an interview with CNN from a few months ago, Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser was asked about the absence of a new mainline Mario title during the prior Direct presentation. “Stay tuned,” he said in response. “You know, we have a long, long catalog, and a long list of (intellectual property) that I’m sure will make its way to the platform.” Going by his statement, a new 3D Mario game announcement may be on the horizon. The company will undoubtedly have a strong lineup of titles for the holiday period. The original Switch launched in March, 2017, and was followed by the release of Mario Odyssey on October 27, 2017. We may see a similar pattern with the arrival of the next mainline Mario game for Nintendo Switch 2.
